THIS. I wish this was a little less bias towards the Ivy Leagues and privates, but I guess that’s okay. The first 8 minutes wasn’t really worth watching IMO, but eh.

Honestly, I didn’t really realize most of this stuff until the middle of senior year. I have been telling all my (now) senior friends to not stress out too much and that applications are so random. Obviously, you can’t get a 1.0, 1000, no EC’s and get into Yale, but that should not define you. Do you honestly think admissions officers are going to sit there and read EVERY SINGLE personal statement? All 50,000+? No. When Jan-March rolls around, you are going to realize that the most random people get rejected and accepted into schools. Don’t let it get you down.

I just wish I could have seen this earlier and understood it better. However, I didn’t. So here you go, underclassmen. I always see you guys freaking out about school (and I’ve definitely done that too), but here is the truth. 

P.S. SLO IS THE HAPPIEST PLACE IN THE US, SLOMATES. ;)

Now this has been something my older brother Alben has preached for a long time.

You are not a resume. It frustrates me when people do a sport, join a club, do an activity just because they want to put something on their resume and end up doing it with no passion. A lot of people lack passion.. where is it? 

dear 9th grade me…dear 10th grade me…dear 11th grade me…i got so f*ckin emotional after watching this. 

Everyone in this is Asian. LOL… Well, almost.
